Nursing Home Visits
We cherish the weeks the puppies are with us, but the very best days are when we take them to our local nursing home and retirement center. We try to visit weekly if at all possible. We've done this with every litter since 2007. Scan the photos below and look at how much the kids have changed over the years! These visits bring great joy to all involved.
This is also a great opportunity for the puppies to be safely exposed to new smells, sounds, sights, and textures. Riding 10-20 miles each way also allows them become accustomed to travel in a vehicle and time in a crate. These two videos show how differently a visit at 2 weeks of age is from the same assisted living center visited at 5.5 weeks of age!
