Myke was bred by Loren Holmes of Red Bluff, California, out of his open trial dog, Helga and by Sweep (a son of Peter Gonnet's Bob). Myke is athletic, confident, and biddable. Always keen to work, he has a good head on his shoulders and is a true partner, sensitive to commands and eager to please. Guy trained and trialed him lightly for few years. In 2021 Angie and Myke started trialing more frequently at MSSA trials, doing really well in round two at the 2021 national finals and winning several buckles at trials in the fall. He's a very social boy who loves everybody, strangers as well as his own circle, and he gets along well with other dogs. Myke is DNA tested as genetically normal for all border collie disorders including the new early onset deafness test. His PennHip test placed him in the tightest 5% of distraction indexes for the breed. Myke weighs 40 lbs and stands approx 21" tall. This video shows Myke's winning run out of 25 dogs at the Broken Circle Classic in October 2021. He won the all around buckle (high points sheep and cattle combined) at this trial.
